Pangkor Island

The fat bears are not rich folk, when people go to Bali and Phuket,
they went to Pangkor Island, on 24th July last year, for a 3 day 2 night visit.

They stopped on the way at Bidor, to try out the famous Wantan Mee at Pun Chun.

From left : Wantan mee and Wu kok
Verdict : Both are overrated. They tasted normal.

With tummies filled, the Bears continued with their journey to Lumut to catch the ferry.
Brown Bear made a wrong turn, got lost,
fought and reconciled with White Bear, and reached safely.

Lumut Ferry Terminal

The bears stayed at the Best Stay Hotel, which is a shophouse converted to a small motel.
It is new and clean, quiet and located within short walking distance to the terminal.

The beach is clean, not too crowded with people,
the water is even clear for some parts of the beach.

From top : Coral beach, filled with beautiful washed up shells,
and Teluk Segadas, which can only be reached with a hike across a jungle.

Of course, how could the bears missed out on seafood.
And so they chose a very famous local seafood restaurant,
Restoran Pasir Bogak (高佬海鲜饭店)

From top left : Spicy Prawns (辣子虾) and Minced Pork Tofu (招牌豆腐)
Verdict : Taste was good, White Bear loved the tofu

From left : Dry Spicy Crab (金香螃蟹) and Kangkung Belacan (马来风光)
Verdict : Taste was good, memorable.

The bill was around RM 60++, quite reasonable.

The fat bears continued with their journey wandering around the island
with their rental motorbike, and saw some peculiar things.

From left : Guinness Stout glass that claims its actually good for you,
and a 3D full size DAP rocket.

A man walking his dog on the beach, how sweet.

After a 3-day visit, the fat bears left a set of paw prints before they leave.

On their journey home, the fat bears saw this,

beautiful sprawling padi field.

They also make a stop at the famous leaning tower of Teluk Intan,

before making their journey home to their everyday lives.

Brown Bear was especially reluctant,
because Pangkor Island is really a place for the body and soul,
to stop and rest. No hustle bustle, just a quiet place suited for the fat bears.
